Lamu Swim started with a feeling I’ve always chased… sun, salt on my skin, and that confidence you get when you love what you’re wearing.

Living in Bali for years and spending time in Kenya growing up, Lamu in particular holds a special place in my heart. There’s just something about it - it’s slow, it’s beautiful, and it's the kind of place that stays with you, so it only felt right to name the brand after it.

But being around the ocean as much as I have, I’ve also seen the other side of it. The waste, the plastic, the reality of what gets washed back onto the shores we love so much. And as much as I love bikinis, I always knew that if I was going to create my own, it had to be done properly - thoughtfully, responsibly and with no compromises.

At the same time, I kept thinking… why are so many bikinis so plain?

I wanted colour, I wanted pieces that feel fun, confident, and a little bit bold. The kind you pack for a trip and can’t wait to wear. Pieces that actually fit well, move with you, and make you feel your best.

So Lamu Swim became about both. Creating bikinis that feel incredible on, while being made with care for the places that inspired them.

Every piece is designed with intention, from the fit to the fabrics we choose, working with a small, trusted production team to keep everything as considered and low-impact as possible.
