Lamu Swim has been a dream of mine for years.
I've always loved the beach, travelling and anything that involves being by the ocean. For as long as I can remember, I've wanted to create my own swimwear brand.
Like so many people, I spent years searching for bikinis that ticked every box.
I wanted fun prints, flattering shapes, premium-quality fabrics and a brand that cared about making thoughtful choices, like using recycled materials. I could usually find one or two of those things, but rarely all of them in the same bikini.
Eventually, I stopped looking and decided to create it myself.
Turning an Idea into Reality
What started as a dream quickly became months of research, sampling and learning.
I spent countless hours finding a manufacturer, testing fabrics, refining fits and making sure every detail felt right. There were plenty of setbacks along the way, but every sample brought the vision a little closer to reality.
I wanted to create bikinis that weren't just beautiful, but pieces you'd genuinely love wearing year after year.
The Meaning Behind the Name
Lamu Swim is named after Lamu Island, a beautiful island on the coast of Kenya.
My dad was born in Kenya, so it's a place that's always held a special meaning for me. The island is known for its turquoise waters, white sandy beaches and laid-back way of life, and that feeling became the inspiration behind the brand.
To me, Lamu represents sunshine, freedom and adventure. That's exactly how I hope people feel when they wear Lamu Swim.
More Than Just Swimwear
Lamu Swim isn't about chasing trends or creating something new every few weeks.
It's about creating timeless swimwear that feels great to wear, fits beautifully and is made to last. Pieces you pack for every holiday, wear on repeat and make memories in.
Because at the end of the day, the best bikini isn't the one sitting in your drawer. It's the one you reach for every time you head to the beach.

Launching Lamu Swim has been one of the most rewarding things I've ever done, but it still feels like the beginning.
