How to Make Your Swimwear Last Longer ☀️

How to Make Your Swimwear Last Longer ☀️

A great bikini is made to be worn on repeat, from beach days and boat trips to weekends by the pool. While premium swimwear is designed to last, how you care for it can make all the difference.

Here are our top tips for keeping your favourite bikinis looking and feeling their best for seasons to come.

1. Rinse After Every Wear

Whether you've been swimming in the sea or relaxing by the pool, it's always a good idea to rinse your swimwear in cool, fresh water as soon as you can.

Salt, chlorine, sunscreen and body oils can all build up in the fabric over time, so a quick rinse helps keep your bikini fresh between washes.

2. Hand Wash Gently

When it's time for a proper clean, hand washing is the best option.

Use cool water and a mild detergent, then gently work the soap through the fabric. Avoid harsh chemicals or bleach, as these can damage the fibres and affect the colour over time.

3. Never Wring Out Your Bikini

It can be tempting to twist your bikini to remove excess water, but this can stretch the fabric and affect its shape.

Instead, gently press out the water using your hands or roll your bikini inside a clean towel to absorb the moisture.

4. Dry It Naturally

Always allow your swimwear to air dry flat in the shade.

Direct sunlight for long periods can cause colours to fade more quickly, while tumble dryers and radiators can damage the fabric's elasticity.

A little patience goes a long way.

5. Be Mindful of Rough Surfaces

Pool edges, rocks, surfboards, wooden decking and other rough surfaces can snag delicate swimwear fabrics.

Lying down a towel before sitting is an easy way to help protect your bikini from unnecessary wear.

6. Rotate Your Swimwear

If you're away on holiday, try not to wear the same bikini every single day.

Giving the fabric time to recover between wears helps it maintain its shape and elasticity, especially after long days in the sun and water.

7. Store It Properly

Before putting your swimwear away, make sure it's completely dry.

Storing damp swimwear can lead to unwanted odours or damage over time. Fold it neatly and keep it somewhere cool and dry until your next adventure.

A Little Care Goes a Long Way

Looking after your swimwear doesn't take much effort, but it can make a real difference.
