Whether I'm spending the day at the beach, exploring a new town, or heading out for lunch, there are a few things that always come with me.
These five essentials have earned a permanent spot in my bag and make every holiday that little bit easier.
1. Sunscreen
If there's one thing you should never leave behind, it's sunscreen.
Even if it's cloudy, UV rays are still strong, especially in tropical destinations. I always keep sunscreen in my bag so I can reapply throughout the day, whether I've been swimming, sightseeing or enjoying a long lunch by the sea.
2. Hand Sanitiser
It might not be the most glamorous item in your bag, but it's one you'll use more than you think.
From beach cafés and public bathrooms to taxis and local markets, having hand sanitiser with you means you're never caught out before eating or after being out and about.
3. A Reusable Water Bottle
Long days in the sun can be dehydrating, and it's easy to forget to drink enough water when you're busy enjoying yourself.
Keeping a reusable water bottle with you means you can stay hydrated throughout the day while also cutting down on single-use plastic.
4. Sunglasses
A good pair of sunglasses is an everyday essential.
Not only do they protect your eyes from the sun, but they also make bright days much more comfortable. I always keep mine in a protective case so they don't end up scratched at the bottom of my bag.
5. A Lamu Swim Bikini
Okay... we might be a little biased with this one.
But I always keep a Lamu Swim bikini in my bag whenever I'm on holiday, even if I don't have plans to swim that day.
The best travel moments are often the unexpected ones. You might stumble across the most beautiful hidden beach, discover an incredible hotel pool, or decide to spend the afternoon by the sea instead of sightseeing.
Having a bikini with you means you can say yes to those spontaneous moments without having to head back to your hotel first. And if you're anything like us, you'd rather have it with you than miss out on an impromptu swim.

Sometimes it's the smallest things that make the biggest difference on holiday.
Keeping a few everyday essentials in your bag means you're ready for whatever the day brings, whether that's wandering through a local market, finding your new favourite beach, or taking a spontaneous dip in crystal-clear water.
